Kuta Beach, Bali, Indonesia
Kuta Beach is one of Bali’s most famous and lively coastal destinations, located in the Badung Regency on the island’s southwest coast. Once a quiet fishing village, Kuta developed into one of Bali’s major tourist areas and is now known for its long sandy beach, surfing, beautiful sunsets, restaurants, shopping and vibrant atmosphere.
The beach is particularly popular with beginner surfers, thanks to its approachable waves. Visitors can also enjoy swimming, relaxing on the sand, taking a leisurely beach walk and trying various water activities.
One of Kuta Beach’s greatest attractions is its spectacular sunset. As the sun sinks over the western horizon, the sky often transforms into beautiful shades of gold, orange, pink and purple, creating a memorable scene for visitors and photographers.
Beyond the beach, Kuta has a lively holiday atmosphere, with hotels, restaurants, shops, bars and entertainment venues close by. Its convenient location also makes it an accessible base for exploring other parts of southern Bali.
Although Kuta can be busy and energetic, its combination of sun, surf, sunsets and Balinese hospitality continues to make it a popular destination for travelers from around the world. Whether you’re learning to surf, enjoying a sunset stroll or simply relaxing beside the Indian Ocean, Kuta Beach offers a classic taste of Bali’s vibrant beach culture.

How to Reach Kuta from the International Airport
After arriving at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, also known as Bali International Airport, reaching Kuta is quick and convenient. The airport is located in Tuban, in the Kuta area of Badung Regency, and Kuta is only a short drive away. Indonesia’s official tourism website estimates the journey from Ngurah Rai Airport to Kuta at around 10 minutes by car or taxi, although actual travel time can be longer when traffic is heavy.
The easiest option for most visitors is to take a taxi or private car directly from the airport. After collecting your luggage and exiting the arrivals area, you can use the airport’s official taxi service or arrange a private transfer to your hotel or directly to Kuta Beach. The official airport tourism information advises passengers using the airport taxi service to go to the taxi counter outside the arrivals hall.
Another option is a hotel shuttle or shared shuttle service. Some hotels in Kuta provide airport transfers, so it is worth checking with your hotel before travelling. Public buses are also available from the airport, although they are generally less convenient if you have luggage and are heading directly to your hotel.
For first-time visitors, a taxi or pre-arranged hotel transfer is usually the simplest choice. Once you leave the airport, the short journey takes you through the busy streets of southern Bali before arriving in Kuta, where you can enjoy its famous beach, lively atmosphere, restaurants, shopping and spectacular sunsets.
In short: Ngurah Rai International Airport → taxi/private car → Kuta → approximately 10 minutes in light traffic, with additional time possible during busy periods.
Accomodation in Kuta

If you are travelling with kids or elderly it is very likely that you will not have a back to back itinerary and would need to relax and unwind after paying a visit to the attractions.Hence I would like to recommend “Holiday Inn Resort Baruna Bali by IHG” It is my personal favourite.
It has both budget rooms and luxury suites. It opens to a public sea beach. You can enjoy the view of the sea by relaxing in the “hut” in the lawn of the resort. The resort has 2 restaurants “Envy” and “Palms”. Under the “Kids Stay and Eat Free” policy, children aged 12 and under can eat for free at the resort’s restaurant. You can order the food and have them in the lawn as a picnic under a starry sky ,with gentle sea breeze. There is a spa inside the resort. You can request the friendly staff of the spa for a bowl of fish food and the kids can enjoy feeding the fishes in the waters around the spa.You can request at the reception to go to the resort terrace for a photo shoot accompanied by a hotel security guard. There is a kids club inside the resort for children 4 to 12 years old ,It has books and toys for the kids and is airconditioned, the kids club has a supervised child minding facility by hotel staffs who will look after the children from 9am to 6pm with break during lunch hours. Access is often complimentary or included in the stay, though, for some bookings, there may be a fee. Outdoor Playground: A shaded outdoor playground is available near the pool. There are 2 swimming pools one for kids and the other one for adults .The adult swimming pool gives you the privilege to “Swim up and Chill”.The resort complex is huge and the kids gets lots of place to run around. There is another quick service restaurant “Flavaz” inside the resort where there is a TV which airs popular sports like football etc…There are some musical instruments near Flavaz which you can enjoy playing. There is a VR room for the kids but this facility is chargable. In addition to Virtual Reality experiences, the room is equipped with PlayStation 5 consoles. There are free airport transfer shuttle from the hotel which are mini vans plying as per a fixed schedule. You need to inform the reception and book a slot if you want to avail the shuttle service. The nearest mall is Lippo Mall Kuta located approximately 400–500 meters away. Offers a supermarket, restaurants, and a cinema (Cinemaxx). Discovery Shopping Mall: Another close option, located about a 10–15 minute walk (approx. 1.1 km) along the main road or beach path.Hotel is very clean and they clean up the rooms regularly .There is a gym inside the resort.Hotel is very clean and they clean up the rooms regularly .There is a gym inside the resort.
If you are an IHG member show your membership number to get discounts during your stay. The resort has free wi-fi and the signal is so strong that you are connected even in the resort lawn overseeing the beach ,so that you can play your favourite music in the internet and lie down and relax in one of the huts overseeing the ocean.
Food & Restaurants
There are plenty of restaurants once you step out of the Resort including some Indian Restaurants.Eating out at the two nearby malls is also a good option. The Resort restaurants also have a wide spread.Do try out the banana juice .I loved it.

DiscoverCars.com brings offers from more than 1,000 rental suppliers together and allows you to compare important details such as the security deposit, mileage allowance, fuel policy, payment requirements and protection before booking. Another advantage is that the quoted price includes mandatory fees, taxes and extras, helping you understand the total cost before you arrive at the rental desk. DiscoverCars.com also offers free cancellation up to 48 hours before the scheduled pickup time under its current cancellation policy. (Discover Cars)
For travelers who want additional protection, DiscoverCars.com offers an optional Full Coverage product. However, this is separate from the rental company’s own insurance and does not eliminate the rental company’s security deposit requirements, so travelers should carefully read the coverage and rental conditions before booking.
